When it comes to contemplating 2010's heavy music panorama, Salt Lake City's CULT LEADER finds its place among the bands that are offering a step-up in aggression, finding a way to update our idea of catharsis through total musical chaos.
CULT LEADER emerged in 2013 from GAZA dissolution, and although it continues in many aspects its former embodiment's work, it clearly evolved in a more contrasted way, fueling its energy with harcore/crust influences balanced by an attraction for morbid ballades and suspended moments of hopelessness.
So far the band released two Eps and two LPs through Jacob Bannon's label Deathwish Inc. (Converge, Oathbreaker, Code Orange, Deafheaven...) all four of them bearing the marks of creative challenges and technical virtuosity. This is not only brutal violence, it EATS you, it FLOODS you in a way no other band ever did.

Following two self-released EP's and a critically acclaimed full length recording, God Mother signed to Party Smasher Inc. records, home of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, and Primitive Weapons.
A four-piece powerhouse, from the depths of the Swedish hardcore underground, ‘God Mother’ has been a rising force since its inception in 2012.
Both God Mother's debut, Maktbehov, as well as 2017's Vilseledd has been criticially acclaimed and cemented the bands presence globally. The band packs hardcore, grind, sludge, and noise into lethal projectiles, fueled by bilingual lyrics denouncing society's ignorance, in both Swedish and English.

HORNDAL (SE)

Horndal is a sludgy hardcore/metal band from Sweden. The band has their roots in a small industrial town in the Swedish woods with the same name is the band – Horndal. A place with a gruesome story to tell. In the late seventies the steel mill that employed almost the whole population was threatened with termination. To protest against this a theatre group, including the parents of the band’s singer and drummer, wrote and set up a play about this disastrous event. The plot depicts the devil (played by their father) coming to the town to shut down the steel mill, leave the exploited workers to their fate and send the whole community to an early grave. Sadly the story came true. The factory was closed and the town was left for dead. The band translated the play and made into their lyrics. Horndal is dead. Long live Horndal. The bands released their debut EP in 2017, recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, High on Fire, Mogwai, Neurosis, Pixies, The Jesus Lizard, PJ Harvey etc.) at Electrical Audio in Chicago.
In 2018 the American metal label Prosthetic Records signed the band and February 22nd 2019 the debut full length album “Horndal - Remains” gets released.
