Christopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus is an adaptation of the fable by the same name which was written around 1592-1593. It tells the tale of Doctor John Faustus, a man who, in pursuit of knowledge, turns to the demonic in order to know everything there is to know.
The play follows Faustus as he uses his newfound powers to do what he’s always wanted to do, as he reaches heights no other mortal has. But what will a man like Faustus do with his newfound powers? When is it too late to turn away from your evil deed? And perhaps most importantly, what is the price of dealing with the devil?
All of this and more will be explored in Lund Student Theater’s Production of The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus.
