OLEG (Oleh) SKRYPKA & his band VOPLI VIDOPLIASSOVA: the founder of energetic, gloriously joyful, irresistible Ukrainian rock music arrives to Sweden with one and only big show in Malmö on a Friday night – and OMG! – we wish every rock legend could rock like this!
It’s no exaggeration to call OLEG SKRYPKA a national legend. Yet before the times of Ukrainian independence, he and VOPLI VIDOPLIASSOVA (VV) rocked on numerous arenas in Ukraine and abroad. Oleg is an actor, composer, founder of national festivals Land of Dreams, Rock Sich and many cultural projects.
His most famous brainchild is VV, a mind-blowing rock lineup. The band stood at the origins of modern Ukrainian music. SKRYPKA was actually the first one in his country to sing rock in Ukrainian. And still today VV continue to create the history of quality rock music, gathering arenas and breaking stereotypes of conventional ethno rock. The melodic hits of VV are sung by millions, and the special feature of the band is the explosive energy of live performances and dedication to Ukrainian culture. For 40 (!!) years, VV have been sharing their irresistible energy with fans all over the world.
SKRYPKA has lived, worked and toured extensively both in Ukraine and in the West, with VV and other projects. His biography includes famous collaborations with Eugene Hutz and Gogol Bordello, Ukrainian National Folk Orchestra (Naoni), Zabava Jazz Cabaret (an art project at the intersection of retro-jazz, Ukrainian romance and French chanson) and many more.
This winter OLEG SKRYPKA and VV are setting out on a tour over North America and Europe to get all Ukrainians and fans of Ukraine and Ukrainian music together. SKRYPKA defines it as a cultural mission: to let Ukrainian music sound all over the world, loud and proud, and to make the words of truth and unconquered freedom resonate in the hearts.

Moriska Paviljongen (i folkmun kallad "Moriskan") är en kulturbyggnad i Folkets Park i Malmö. Byggnaden ritades 1901 på uppdrag av arbetarrörelsen, av den polsk-judiske arkitekten Aron Wolff Krenzisky. Med sina sju torn och en tivoliarkitektur influerad av sekelskiftets orientalism, är den unik i sitt slag i Sverige. Huset invigdes 17 augusti 1902.
