Live: VED + Küchen/Lipscomb/Osgood

Malmö

Moriska Paviljongen
torsdag, 5 februari 2026 kl:19:00

An evening of experimental music at Moriskan! Starting off the night is a trio of improvising stalwarts Lipscomb/Kuchen/Osgood. Combining free jazz with chamber like dynamics and punk attitude, the music is confrontational and jagged. Guitar, Sax and drums create distorted structures of static energy.

Closing the night will be Malmö psychedelic art rock music collective VED. Defying genre and strategy to create minimalist trance rock, VED has been exploring and creating together for over 15 years.

VED
For more than fifteen years, the Malmö-based music collective VED has defied our genre-obsessed contemporary culture with its hypnotically repetitive music at the crossroads of post-punk, free jazz, musique concrète, and minimalism. Vocals have largely been set aside in favor of unexpected samples featuring Uri Geller, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Ebba Busch. On their fifth full-length album, If the Door is Opened, it’s Opened from the Outside (Kontra-Musik 2023), the group added a new literary dimension to their already eclectic sound by including vocal elements for the first time. So what do they sing about? Refrigerators, airports, and excrement — or perhaps capitalism, transcendence, and rebirth?
Since 2010, VED have released five albums and three EPs, toured extensively across Scandinavia, Germany, England, Spain, and Central Asia, and collaborated with a wide range of artists, including L.T. Fisk and Jenny Wilson.

Küchen / Lipscomb / Osgood

Known for their groundbreaking collaborations and fearless approach to music, the improvising trio of Martin Küchen, Jon Lipscomb, and Kresten Osgood bring a wealth of experience to the stage.
Küchen, celebrated for his work with groups like Angles and his acclaimed solo sax albums, is a powerful force in the European scene. He won the Akking Manifest prize for Best Jazz Album of the year 2024 for his album with Angles.
Lipscomb, a master of experimental guitar, has worked with luminaries like Brandon Lopez and has explored solo guitar improvisation and his playing has been described by the Wire as “...challenging music ..not to be listened to in a fragile state of mind.”

Osgood, one of Denmark’s most active musicians, has earned recognition through his work with Roscoe Mitchell, Peter Brötzmann, and practically everyone and anyone who has touched the music. He won a DMA award in Denmark for best jazz album of 2024.

Huset invigdes 17 augusti 1902.
