Porcupine Tree släpper albumet CLOSURE/CONTINUATION. 

Bandets första nya album på tolv år kommer i juni 2022. Första nya låten HARRIDAN  finns att lyssna på online  nu. Stor Europaturné är utannonserad till hösten 2022.

Porcupine Tree, ett av Storbritanniens mest framåtsträvande, genretrotsande rockband, återvänder med sin första nya musik på tolv år i dag (1 november 2021). ”Harridan” är den första singeln från bandets efterlängtade album som släpps i juni nästa år

"Harridan "är den perfekta återintroduktionen till Porcupine Trees verkligt distinkta sound - en kraftfull åtta minuters lång resa som förebådar återkomsten av ett helt unikt rockband.

Efter att spelats in under ett decennium, kommer albumet CLOSURE/CONTINUATION att släppas på Music For Nations/Sony den 24 juni 2022. Detta sjuspårsalbum, kommer att släppas i ett flertal olika utgåvor såsom bl.a. standard CD / dubbel vinyl / färgad vinyl eller begränsad kassett.

Porcupine Tree on Harridan and CLOSURE/CONTINUATION: “Harridan and a few of the other new songs have been in play since shortly after the release of The Incident. They initially lived on a hard drive in a slowly growing computer file marked PT2012, later renamed PT2015, PT2018, and so on. There were times when we even forgot they were there, and times when they nagged us to finish them to see where they would take us. Listening to the finished pieces, it was clear that this wasn’t like any of our work outside of the band - the combined DNA of the people behind the music meant these tracks were forming what was undeniably, unmistakably, obviously a Porcupine Tree record. You’ll hear all of that DNA flowing right through Harridan.”

Porcupine Tree har utannonserat en rad stora europeiska och brittiska liveshower hösten 2022. Dessa shower är bandets första sedan oktober 2010 och kommer sannolikt att vara de enda liveframträdandena för albumet CLOSURE/CONTINUATION. Porcupine Tree kommer att spela här:

Porcupine Tree are Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison. They are a hugely influential, relentlessly creative British rock band.

First dreamt up by Wilson in 1987 as an outlet for experimental recordings he was making outside of his synth-pop duo No-Man, Porcupine Tree expanded to become a proper band in the early ’90s in order to further explore his ideas both on record and on stage.

Over the years Porcupine Tree have constantly evolved as their expansive music has shifted from pastoral psychedelic rock and ambient electronic soundscapes to experimental pop and eventually - with “21st century masterpiece” In Absentia (Classic Rock) - a propulsive metal sound all of their own. Their latter records effortlessly combined each of those genres and allowed Porcupine Tree to occupy a musical universe unique to them.

They released ten albums between 1992’s On The Sunday of Life and 2009’s The Incident. The band entered a period of hiatus following their biggest live show up to that point at the Royal Albert Hall in October 2010.
