Avant-garde metalbandet IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT låter det musikaliska arvet från sin hemstad New York ta plats i en turbulent och respektlös mix av influenser där black metal möter jazz utan att be om ursäkt. Resultatet är lika rått och brutalt som urbant elegant. Här samlas storstadens förfall och helvetets vidrigaste väsen i ett glas gyllene champagne.
De har släppt sex studioalbum sedan 2014, men fick ett större genombrott med 2020 års ‘Alphaville’, där de jobbat med bland annat Tomas Haake från Meshuggah och Trey Spruance från Mr.Bungle för att skapa ett av de senaste årens mest intressanta metalalbum. Det är både vilt experimenterande och direkt lyssningsbart och utsågs till årets tionde bästa av Metal Hammer. Förra året följde de upp med ’Spirit of Ecstasy’, som utmanar gränserna för bandets sound ännu ett steg.

The result is as raw and brutal as it is elegant. Here the decay of the big city and the nastiest essence of hell come together in a glass of golden champagne.
They have released six studio albums since 2014, but had a bigger breakthrough with 2020s Alphaville, where they worked with, among others, Tomas Haake from Meshuggah and Trey Spruance from Mr.Bungle to create one of the most interesting metal albums of recent years. It is both wildly experimental and immediately listenable and was named the tenth best of the year by Metal Hammer. Last year they followed up with Spirit of Ecstasy, which challenges the boundaries of the bands sound even more.
Debaser är en rockklubb som bland annat finns vid Slussen och Medborgarplatsen i Stockholm och den finns även i Malmö. Den har fått sitt namn efter Pixies-låten med samma namn. På Debaser har flera stora inhemska och internationella artister spelat, däribland Bob Dylan, The Zombies, Ebba Grön, The Strokes, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Bob hund, Arcade Fire, Dizzee Rascal, Pete Doherty, Marit Bergman, Bright Eyes och Ryan Adams.
