JOJO ÅKER PÅ TURNÉ MED NY MUSIK – GÖR ETT STOPP I SVERIGE!
Flerfaldigt prisbelönade JoJo, bakom hits som Leave (Get Out) och Too Little Too Late, är aktuell med ny musik. Nu återupptar hon turnerandet och den 30 maj gör hon en efterlängtad konsert på Fryshuset i Stockholm!
Trots sina unga 30 år är amerikanska JoJo, född Joanna Levesque, något av en veteran i musikbranschen. Få har nog undgått hennes megahits från 2000-talet, vars melodier väcker känslor av nostalgi hos många.
Vid 13 års ålder debuterade hon med självbetitlade albumet JoJo som kom att säljas i över 4 miljoner exemplar. Låten “Leave (Get Out)” fick en enorm genomslagskraft och dominerade de största topplistorna. Albumet blev JoJos första platinaskiva och succen följdes upp med flera framgångar, som bland annat singeln “Too Little Too Late”.
17 år in i karriären gjorde JoJo en triumferande comeback med albumet “good to know” (2020), som hamnade på första plats på Billboards “R&B Album Chart” och tog emot hyllningar från Vulture, TIME, Variety, NYLON, NPR och The FADER, för att nämna några.
Musikprojektet “trying not to think about it” gavs ut i oktober i år och beskrivs av Pitchfork som hennes råaste släpp hittills. Med en fortsatt sårbarhet och transparens porträtteras teman som psykisk ohälsa. Det är mestadels lugna låtar med melodier inbäddade i atmosfäriska syntar och mjuka pianotoner. “I hope this feels like a warm weighted blanket”, säger JoJo i en intervju med MTV News. Hon fortsätter och säger att hon hoppas sina fans ska känna en slags trygghet när de lyssnar på musiken, på samma sätt som hon kunde känna trygghet i skapandet av den:
“I hope they know theyre not alone, and that they may be inspired to go on their own journey of finding themselves again, because it’s not just gonna be one time. I’ve lost and found myself in every single project, and I think it’s always a worthy journey to go on.”
