On May 13 (at 12.30 and 2.30 pm) and May 14 (at 10.00 am and 1.00 pm) we are giving an exclusive performance in English of our acclaimed theatre play Historien om Bodri/The Story of Bodri (for student 8-12 years) at Teater Barbara's stage at Pipersgatan 4, Kungsholmen.
A story about a friendship that survived the Holocaust, based on Hedi Frieds and Stina Wirsens childrens book with the same title.
The dog Bodri is the center of the performance.During World War II, Hedi and her family are deported to Auschwitz while their dog Bodri has to stay behind. Hedi and her sister Livia lose their parents in the camp but the girls survive. To cope they often think about the happy times when they were all together back home with their friend. While the seasons change from winter to spring, from summer to autumn, the faithful Bodri is waiting under the tree where Hedi and her best friend Marika used to climb and play. When the camp is liberated in January 1945, the sisters return to reunite with their beloved Bodri .The story of Bodri is a poetic piece using puppets and actors to give testimony to the Holocaust, told from a child’s perspective.
