Cristina Branco is synonymous of sophistication. An artist inside a strong, conservative and traditional roots such as Fado. Cristina Branco always presents an impressive selection of classics and timeless poets, surrounded with great composers and musicians with an excellent transposing during a live performance. A career with more than ten albums and the experience of hundreds of concerts all over the world, turns Cristina Branco and her work a very particular presence between the sophistication, tradition and innovation.
In the fall of 2016 a new album, called “Menina”, is released. “Menina” presents originals written to Cristina Branco by new composers from various latitudes of Portuguese music: Pedro da Silva Martins and Luís Martins (Deolinda), Mário Laginha, and texts of Kalaf (Buraka Som Sistema) and the well-known writer António Lobo Antunes.
As the live performance, the album was recorded with the trio composed by Bernardo Moreira (double bass), Luís Figueiredo (piano) and Bernardo Couto (Portuguese guitar).
Teatern är Stockholms äldsta öppna teaterhus, beläget i hjärtat av Södermalm och med en hisnande utsikt över staden. Teatermiljön till trots ligger tonvikten på musik. Som konsertscen håller Södra Teatern hög profil både inrikes och internationellt, och lockar till sig färgstarka lokala artister såväl som gnistrande världsstjärnor. Här ryms även restaurang och flera barer. Södra Teatern är ett helägt dotterbolag till Riksteatern.
