As Yemisi Wilsons exhibition draws to an end, we invite you to join us for an intimate night of cava and carving on October 24. No prior experience is necessary. Materials and refreshments included.In her exhibtion, Yemisi portrays and honours two significant women (her maternal & paternal grandmothers) who have been important to their families, working in alabaster, marble, and black granite. She examines what it means to have roots in Nigeria, a country she has never visited, and roots in Sweden deeply rooted in both Värmland and Stockholm. Join us for the second alabaster workshop.

Yemisi Wilson is a stonemason and sculptor who trained as a painter in Florence at the Accademia di Belli Arti, 1994-2000. She worked as a stone sculptor in Pietrasanta from 1999 to 2011, where she was a resident artist at Studio Sem. In 2012 she returned to Stockholm and now works from her studio in Vinterviken, often going on work trips to Italy, Spain, India and Älvdalen where she works in marble, alabaster, granite and porphyry.
