Parisian golden threads, please! Rustling silk, pearls of sweat, blasts of trumpets

Welcome to a special guided exhibition of Queen Christina’s crowning outfit and Storkyrkan - Stockholm Cathedral in the 17th-century.
Chaplain Ulf Lindgren is our guide for this event. He is a magnificent storyteller and provides us with a vivid and colourful description of Queen Christina’s coronation and the cathedral in the 17th century.
Ulf Lindgren has a long experience in guiding and was once upon a time even a tour guide. Queen Christina of Sweden was crowned in Stockholm Cathedral 1650 and abdicated in 1654.
She is remembered as one of the most educated women of her time and for her patronage of arts. She left Sweden a few days after her abdication and come to spend the rest of her life in Rome.
Queen Christina’s crowning outfit usually resides in Livrustkammaren - Royal Armoury, but during the spring it is exhibited in Stockholm Cathedral.
From the cathedral’s treasures is Queen Christina’s crowning crucifix from 1650 on display.

Welcome!
