Just a year after the release of our first studio album ‘Beautiful Distance’, The Bland opened a thrilling new chapter. The vision of creating a place of barrier-free encounters and filling it with musical life now becomes a reality. The Bland created a sound that will surprise in its playfulness and novelty. A warm pull that you don’t want to stray from. Welcome to La Hata Vitoye.
The songwriters in the band, originally from Sweden, met as teenagers while traveling in New Zealand. After falling in love with each other musically, the friends decided to travel the streets and stages of the world together. Over the years, numerous songs have been written and were recorded in their studio ‘Röda Paradise’, a red wooden hut in the south of Stockholm. The five-piece band recently played their biggest tour with concerts all over Europe and we were invited to pioneering showcase festivals such as Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
The new songs tell the stories from a fictional world with its own heroes, characters and culture. The Bland’s indie pop meets Latin vibes. It sounds like an exuberant night of dancing, freedom and joie de vivre.

With La Hata Vitoye, we want to create more than just music.
Axel Öberg, singer and songwriter from The Bland says:, “When we were on tour in Germany last February, we heard about the first Corona cases. Over the next few months, as a practicing doctor in Sweden, I saw how social isolation harmed people. With La Hata Vitoye we want to try to look at life differently again, to come together and share a positive attitude towards life. This place called La Hata Vitoye, which we are talking about, will become a real actual place at our own festivals next summer. And we can’t wait to meet as many as possible there. If the situation permits.”
The release of the first single La Hata Vitoye, on August 28th, marked the beginning of a new story from The Bland - at the same time it is an invitation for all to become a part of it.
